I've been thinking a lot lately about how we can help to mentor one another. Sadly, I have watched too many new faculty enter academe only to be overwhelmed and under resourced. Although many schools have programs in place to provide mentoring, it doesn't always work. Faculty have so many other competing interests! Many are overworked and have very little extra time or energy to help.
If you are interested in a private one-to-one relationship, I am starting a listing of individuals, beginning with myself, who are available for individual mentoring. Each private mentor will work out the details and any reimbursement directly with you and/or your institution. Once again, the goal of this website is to simply facilitate some of this networking. We live in a big country and an even bigger world! But thanks to technology, there are many ways we can connect with and help each other.
If you would like to reach out and support a colleague in a new teaching role, let me know! I would be happy to include you in the Directory of Mentors.
